Odisha CM Majhi Distributes 4,623 Appointment Letters at Nijukti Mela
Bhubaneswar, April 23: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday described government service as more than just a livelihood, calling it a unique opportunity to serve the people of Odisha. He was addressing newly appointed candidates after distributing 4,623 appointment letters at the 15th Recruitment Fair (Nijukti Mela) held at Kalinga Stadium.
Appointments were made across seven departments:
- School & Mass Education: 4,113
- Forest, Environment & Climate Change: 154
- MSME: 143
- Steel & Mines: 77
- Fisheries & Animal Resources Development: 70
- Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water: 52
- Skill Development & Technical Education: 14
Highlighting the government’s employment record, Majhi noted that since June 2024, Odisha has provided 44,082 government jobs and 92,000 private sector jobs. He urged recruits to uphold integrity and dedication, offering five key pieces of advice: avoid corruption, respect democracy, keep ideology separate from duty, maintain punctuality, and behave with courtesy.
Union Minister Jual Oram praised the initiative, while several state ministers attended the event. Newly appointed officials, including visually impaired Assistant Industry Officer Bikas Ranjan Padhi, expressed gratitude for the transparent recruitment process.
