Odisha Charts Future-Ready Aviation Roadmap at Wings India 2026
Odisha showcased its ambitious aviation roadmap at Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad under the theme “Odisha Takes Flight.” The state’s pavilion highlighted strategic initiatives in airport development, aviation training, drone technology, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) opportunities, aligning with long-term visions of Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047.
Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, IAS, emphasised women’s participation in aviation during the Women in Aviation roundtable, underscoring the importance of encouraging girls to pursue aviation careers early and building an enabling ecosystem for women leaders.
Two landmark MoUs were signed to strengthen skill development:
- Alchemist Aviation is to establish a Flying Training Organisation (FTO) at Dandbose Airport, Mayurbhanj, training around 50 pilots annually.
- With BonV Aero to set up Odisha’s first UAV (Drone) Training & Testing Centre at Rangeilinda Airstrip, Berhampur, with a capacity to train over 100 UAV pilots per year.
Odisha’s strategy rests on public-private partnerships, coordinated policy support, and sustainability, aiming to strengthen the aviation value chain through collaboration and people-centric planning.
The Odisha Pavilion is located at Hall C, Stall No. 25-C, Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad, open from January 28–31, 2026.
