November 7: Odisha Students to Celebrate India’s Iconic Freedom Song

In a statewide initiative to honour the legacy of India’s national song, schools across Odisha will commemorate the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram” on November 7, 2025.

The Odisha government has directed all educational institutions to organise special programs that highlight the song’s historical and cultural significance.

Students will participate in a range of activities, including recitations, musical performances, and interactive sessions exploring the role of “Vande Mataram” in India’s freedom movement.

The initiative aims to foster patriotic values and deepen students’ understanding of the song’s enduring impact on national identity.

Education officials emphasised that the observance is not just a tribute, but a learning opportunity to connect young minds with the spirit of India’s independence struggle.

Schools have been encouraged to creatively engage students through art, music, and storytelling formats that bring the song’s legacy to life.
