Naveen Patnaik Leads by Example in Digital Census Drive

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has set an example by participating in the Digital Census self‑enumeration process, underscoring the ease and accessibility of India’s new technology‑driven approach to data collection.

Patnaik logged in to the portal, verified his identity, and entered household details online, demonstrating how citizens can seamlessly complete the process without paperwork.

He emphasised that census data is vital for planning healthcare, education, infrastructure, and welfare schemes, and urged people to actively participate to ensure accuracy.

The Digital Census integrates Aadhaar and government databases for streamlined verification, reduces manual errors, and accelerates compilation.

This marks a significant shift from traditional door‑to‑door surveys to a modern, digital governance model.

Patnaik’s involvement is expected to encourage wider adoption among citizens, strengthening the foundation for evidence‑based policymaking in Odisha and beyond.
