Naveen Patnaik Hails DRDO’s Successful Long Range Cruise Missile Test
Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Chief Minister and current Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the successful flight test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM).
The test was conducted from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast, with the Ministry of Defence confirming that all mission objectives were achieved.
Tracking and monitoring systems at the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, validated the missile’s performance throughout its flight.
Developed entirely indigenously, the LRLACM integrates subsystems designed by DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the achievement, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening India’s self‑reliance in the strategic defence sector.
Patnaik’s congratulatory message highlighted Odisha’s role as a testing ground for advanced defence technologies and reaffirmed the state’s importance in India’s defence ecosystem.
