Mohan Majhi Returns Home with Development Agenda Worth ₹1,500 Crore

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to undertake an extensive tour programme from November 1 to 9, culminating in a four-day visit to his home district, Kendujhar, where he will launch and inaugurate more than 40 developmental projects worth between ₹1,200 crore and ₹1,500 crore.

The visit is being positioned as a major Diwali gift for the people of Kendujhar, with projects covering healthcare, education, infrastructure, irrigation, industrial growth and digital development.

According to the schedule, the Chief Minister will begin his engagements on November 1 with the distribution of appointment letters before travelling to Delhi on November 2 and 3.

He will then accompany President Droupadi Murmu during her visit to Rairangpur on November 4 and 5 before proceeding directly to Kendujhar on November 6.

On November 6, CM Majhi will attend a programme at Dharanidhar University, where he will perform the Bhoomi Pujan for the Godabarisha Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalaya and launch several infrastructure projects.

Later in the day, he will lay the foundation stone for a Technology Business Park at Maligaon and inaugurate key healthcare facilities, including a dedicated Cancer Care Unit at Dharanidhar Medical College and Hospital.

The following day, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the Jhumpura Community Health Centre and lay foundation stones for three Mega Lift Irrigation Projects at Raikala, Satikudar and Jarkani.

On November 8 and 9, he will participate in public welfare programmes, interact with local residents and join Diwali and Kali Puja celebrations in his hometown before returning to Bhubaneswar.

The visit comes amid the state government’s continued focus on Kendujhar’s development.

Since June 2024, projects worth more than ₹7,000 crore across over 150 initiatives have either been inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid in the district.

Major achievements include the establishment of a modern Forest Training School in Champua, a Skill Development Training Centre, a Trauma Care and Inpatient Wing at Dharanidhar Medical College and Hospital, a Mega Textile Park expected to generate over 1,200 jobs, and a Disaster Recovery Data Centre at Dharanidhar University.

Significant investments have also been made in roads, aviation infrastructure, sports facilities and model Anganwadi centres.

Officials believe the latest round of project launches will further accelerate Kendujhar’s socioeconomic growth and strengthen its infrastructure landscape in the years ahead.
