Man Arrested for Raping Niece in Deogarh; Bail Plea Rejected

Deogarh, April 14: Police in Deogarh district have arrested Ajit Munda (23) for allegedly raping his 18-year-old niece inside his home under Barkote police limits.

The incident occurred late at night while the victim was sleeping with her sisters.

Ajit reportedly threatened to kill her if she revealed the assault and verbally abused her.

Initially, the victim’s mother advised silence due to fear of social stigma.

However, Ajit himself began spreading the incident publicly, defaming the girl.

Unable to bear the humiliation, the victim lodged a written complaint at Barkote Police Station.

Police registered a case under multiple sections of law, arrested Ajit, and produced him in court.

His bail plea was rejected, and he has been sent to judicial custody.
