Lieutenant Harshit Deo Appointed ADC to Odisha Governor | Indian Navy Officer Joins Lok Bhawan
Bhubaneswar, Dec 15: Navy Officer Lieutenant Harshit Deo has formally taken charge as the Aide‑De‑Camp (ADC) to Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati.
The appointment ceremony was held at Lok Bhawan, where the Governor conferred the honorary title upon him.
Lieutenant Deo, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA) with a B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Communication, brings both academic excellence and professional naval expertise to his new role.
He previously served as Watch Keeping Officer (WKO) aboard INS Aditya, following his Sub‑Lieutenant (Afloat) phase on INS Delhi in May 2022.
He later pursued the SLT (X) Tech Course before joining INS Aditya in April 2023, where he was appointed WKO in December 2023.
During his tenure, Deo participated in multiple fleet deployments and international naval exercises, gaining valuable operational experience.
Hailing from Lohaghat in Champawat district of Uttarakhand, he is the son of Shri Naresh Deo, a retired government teacher and recipient of the President’s Award for teaching.
The Governor of Odisha is assisted by two ADCs—one from the Indian Navy and another from the State Police.
At present, IPS officer Kuldeep Meena serves as the other ADC. Lieutenant Deo’s appointment strengthens the Governor’s team with a blend of naval discipline and academic distinction.
