Jagannath Temple Panel Seeks Shankaracharya’s Guidance on Reforms

Puri, Odisha: Members of the Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee held a crucial meeting with Puri Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati at Govardhan Peetha.

The delegation, led by Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb and Chief Secretary Anu Garg, sought guidance on temple systems and shared updates on ongoing projects including the Adarsh Gurukul, Shri Jagannath Interpretation Centre, Shri Jagannath Pilgrimage Centre, Jagannath Ballav Park Project, and Raghunandan Library.

The Shankaracharya expressed concern over the decline of dharma and culture globally, stressing that Odisha must remain safeguarded from such erosion.

He welcomed the Supreme Court’s stance on protecting Sanatan Dharma and assured his counsel if consulted.

On temple reforms, he endorsed the newly introduced queue system for darshan, emphasising orderly, peaceful, and convenient experiences for devotees.

The meeting highlighted the committee’s commitment to strengthening spiritual traditions while modernising facilities for pilgrims.
