High Court Orders Detention of MT Unit at Paradip
Paradip, Odisha: The Orissa High Court has ordered the detention of oil tanker MT Unit at Paradip port following a petition by UAE‑based fuel supplier Tresta International FZE over unpaid dues exceeding Rs 4 crore.
Acting on the directive, a judicial marshal from Kujang executed the arrest order after the vessel had unloaded its cargo.
The tanker had arrived on May 9 carrying crude oil from Russia for Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).
According to the complaint, bunker fuel supplied in January remained unpaid, prompting the supplier to seek legal intervention.
The ship, which completed unloading at Paradip’s Single Point Mooring facility, now remains anchored under detention.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
