Hanuman Jayanti 2026: Tight Security in Cuttack & Sambalpur, Cities Resemble Police Camps

April 14: As Odisha celebrates Hanuman Jayanti alongside the Odia New Year, authorities in Cuttack and Sambalpur have enforced unprecedented security measures to ensure peaceful festivities.

In Cuttack, major processions began from Choudhury Bazaar Maruti Mandap, moving through key city routes to Dolmundai.

To maintain order, the Commissionerate Police deployed 20 platoons of police, 200 officers, and additional CRPF and BSF personnel.

A flag march was conducted, while CCTV and drone surveillance monitored the city, confirmed DCP Rishikesh Khilari.

In Sambalpur, police administration has taken extensive precautions, with heightened vigilance across sensitive areas.

The twin cities now resemble police camps, as security forces ensure the smooth conduct of religious and cultural events.

These measures highlight the administration’s commitment to safeguarding both tradition and public safety during one of Odisha’s most vibrant festivals.
