Director Amit Roy Announces Historical Film on Shivaji Maharaj
Renowned filmmaker Amit Roy, celebrated for works like Road to Sangam, OMG 2, and Oh My Dog, has revealed plans for a new historical film centred on the legendary Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Roy emphasised the importance of perspective in historical storytelling, noting that events often appear different depending on who records them.
He cited the Jallianwala Bagh massacre as an example, explaining how British accounts portrayed General Dyer differently than local narratives.
While the film’s title and casting details remain under wraps, the announcement has generated significant anticipation among audiences eager to see Shivaji Maharaj’s life depicted on screen.
