CRPF Jawan Jayaprakash Gahir Accorded Guard of Honour in Balangir

Balangir: The sudden demise of CRPF Jawan Jayaprakash Gahir has left his family and community in deep grief.

Posted in Bilaspur, Gahir complained of severe chest pain while preparing for duty and was declared dead at a nearby medical facility.

His mortal remains were brought to Kantabanji, where hundreds of locals, intellectuals, youth, ex‑servicemen, social activists, and political leaders gathered to pay their last respects.

A solemn funeral procession followed, reflecting the collective sorrow of the region.

The body was later taken to his native village, Kharbahali in Belpada block, where police personnel accorded him a Guard of Honour.

His final rites were performed in the presence of family and villagers.

Jayaprakash leaves behind his wife, two young children, and an elderly father.

As the family’s sole breadwinner, his passing has sparked calls from locals and intellectuals urging the state government to extend financial assistance and long‑term support.
