CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s Three‑Day Odisha Visit: Cultural Stops and BLO Interaction at OUAT

Bhubaneswar, Dec 27: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India, Gyanesh Kumar, has begun a three‑day official visit to Odisha, blending administrative duties with cultural engagements.

Arriving at Biju Patnaik International Airport, the CEC proceeded to Puri to offer prayers at the Shree Jagannath Temple before visiting the iconic Konark Sun Temple.

His itinerary continues on December 28 with stops at Raghurajpur heritage village, Dhauli Shanti Stupa, Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves, and the Mukteswar Temple in Bhubaneswar.

The highlight of the visit is scheduled for December 29, when Kumar will address booth‑level officers (BLOs) at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) auditorium.

The interaction, set for 3:00 pm, will focus on election preparedness, the responsibilities of BLOs, and strengthening grassroots electoral processes.

Officials emphasised that while cultural visits are part of the programme, the core purpose remains reinforcing procedural clarity and operational readiness among election officials.

No election‑related announcements are expected during this tour, which concludes later the same evening.
