BJD Axes Former MP and Ex-MLA for Anti-Party Activities
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has suspended former Bhadrak MP Manjulata Mandal and her husband, former Dhamnagar MLA Muktikanta Mandal, citing anti-party activities.
The suspension was announced through an official letter dated April 6, 2026, issued by BJD Vice President Pratap Jena.
According to the party, both leaders engaged in actions detrimental to BJD’s interests.
Manjulata Mandal was serving as a State Council Member, while Muktikanta Mandal held the position of Bhadrak District Member.
This disciplinary move comes at a crucial time for Odisha politics, as the BJD seeks to reinforce internal discipline and unity ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
The suspension underscores the party’s zero-tolerance stance toward activities perceived as undermining its organisational strength.
