Bhadrak Shop Owner Killed, Son Battles for Life
A late-night clash during Ganesh immersion festivities in Bhadrak’s Jena Sahi under Randia Panchayat turned fatal when a chicken shop owner, Laxmidhar Jena, was brutally attacked.
Armed assailants used glass bottles and sharp weapons, killing Laxmidhar on the spot and leaving his son, Parshuram Jena, critically injured.
Parshuram was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, where his condition remains precarious.
Police suspect the attack stemmed from long-standing local rivalries involving Laxmidhar.
Bhadrak Rural Police reached the scene promptly, launched an investigation, and arrested four suspects.
Authorities continue to probe the motive behind the assault.
