Bhadrak Police Foil Cattle Smuggling, Rescue 60 Cows
Bhadrak district police successfully intercepted a major cattle smuggling operation near Bideipur Chhak on the Dhamra–Basudevpur road.
Acting on a tip-off, Basudevpur police joined forces with Nayakanidihi police to raid a truck suspected of transporting cattle illegally from the Dhamra port area toward Balasore.
The operation led to the seizure of a truck carrying nearly 60 cows and the arrest of the driver, who now faces legal action.
Authorities confirmed that the rescued animals have been shifted to a safe shelter where they are receiving proper care.
Police officials described the raid as part of Odisha’s intensified crackdown on cattle smuggling and animal cruelty.
Local residents welcomed the action, praising the vigilance of law enforcement and urging authorities to continue such operations to curb illegal trade and protect livestock.
