Baladevjew Temple to Get Rs 100-Crore Facelift Under Parikrama Project

Kendrapara, Nov 16: The historic Baladevjew Temple in Kendrapara is set for a major transformation under the ambitious Parikrama Project, with the Odisha government committing Rs 100 crore towards its redevelopment.

A high-level review meeting chaired by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, and attended by Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, senior district officials, and the Endowment Commissioner, finalised the initial blueprint for the project.

The plan includes comprehensive beautification of the temple precincts, featuring improved pathways, landscaping, lighting, and visitor-friendly amenities.

Officials emphasised that the initiative aims to position Baladevjew Temple as a leading heritage destination for pilgrims and tourists.

Minister Harichandan assured that all essential measures—from beautification to enhanced public facilities—will be implemented to provide a refreshed environment for devotees.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) is currently in progress, with work expected to begin within the current financial year.

MP Baijayant Panda reviewed the proposals and offered inputs to strengthen the project, while local MLA Durga Prasan Nayak confirmed that the Works Department will soon commence beautification activities.

The redevelopment marks a significant step in preserving Odisha’s cultural heritage while creating a modern, accessible, and engaging space for worshippers and visitors alike.
