Bahuda Yatra to Witness Showers as IMD Predicts Rain Till July 28

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across Odisha till July 28 as the southwest monsoon remains active over the state.

A prevailing trough line is expected to intensify showers in several districts.

The Bahuda Yatra, scheduled for July 24, is likely to be accompanied by rainfall, similar to the Gundicha Yatra earlier this month.

Heavy rain alerts have been issued for Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj districts, while coastal regions may experience gusty winds of 30–40 kmph along with thunderstorms.

Athagarh in Cuttack district recorded the highest rainfall at 206 mm, followed by Hatadihi in Keonjhar with 190.2 mm.

Six locations across six districts reported very heavy rainfall, and 36 places recorded heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours.

Authorities have advised residents and pilgrims to remain cautious, avoid waterlogged areas, and follow official advisories during the Bahuda Yatra.
