Ashok Tripathy Committee Submits Odisha Teachers Report to CM Majhi
Bhubaneswar, Sept 21: The Ashok Tripathy Committee, formed to address long‑standing service and professional concerns of teachers in Odisha, submitted its detailed report to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lokaseva Bhawan.
The committee, chaired by retired IAS officer Ashok Kumar Tripathy and co‑chaired by Sudarshan Nayak, engaged with 104 teacher associations, held 90 meetings, and compiled 79 reports to capture the diverse issues faced by educators across primary, upper primary, high school, and higher secondary institutions.
School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, and senior officials including the Chief Secretary and Finance Department representatives were present during the submission.
Chief Minister Majhi assured that the recommendations will be carefully examined before decisions are taken, signalling a possible shift in policy for government and aided institutions.
The committee was initially set up in December 2025 and reconstituted in February 2026 following repeated demands from teacher associations regarding pay, benefits, and service conditions.
