67‑Year‑Old Shopkeeper Held for Rape Attempt on MBA Student in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, April 26: Police on Sunday arrested 67‑year‑old shopkeeper Dipak Pradhan in the Infovalley area of Bhubaneswar for allegedly attempting to rape an MBA student inside her hostel room.

According to reports, Pradhan forcefully entered the hostel premises and tried to assault the student. The survivor raised an alarm, prompting immediate intervention.

Her parents lodged a complaint, leading to swift police action.

Pradhan was caught while attempting to flee and taken into custody. Authorities confirmed he will be remanded to judicial custody after interrogation.
