413 Kg Ganja Seized in Gajapati District Raid

Gajapati, April 26: In a major breakthrough against narcotics trafficking, R. Udayagiri police seized 413 kilograms of ganja during a raid in Gajapati district on Sunday.

Acting on credible intelligence, police teams led by SDPO Rakesh Sahoo uncovered large quantities of cannabis hidden in remote hilltops and underground pits across Manikpur and Dalimbapur villages.

Officials said the terrain was deliberately chosen to make access difficult and to conceal the contraband for future transport.

The seizure marks a significant step in curbing illegal cannabis cultivation and smuggling in the region, where forested and hilly geography is often exploited by traffickers.

Police have intensified searches in nearby areas, and further investigation is underway to identify the network behind the consignment.
