President Droupadi Murmu Returns to Rairangpur, Launches Key Projects Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit

Rairangpur, Odisha: President Droupadi Murmu marked an emotional homecoming on the eve of her birthday by returning to her birthplace, Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.

She was warmly received by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and senior officials.

During her visit, President Murmu inaugurated a free health camp in collaboration with AIIMS Bhubaneswar — the first of its kind in the region.

She also launched several development projects, including a mega pipe water supply scheme for Kusumi block, a new Brahma Kumaris building, a Special Circuit House, and the Superintendent of Police office for the newly formed Rairangpur Police District.

Her decision to celebrate her birthday in Rairangpur instead of Delhi underscored her deep bond with the local community.

The visit sets the stage for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival on June 20, when he will join President Murmu for a massive public programme titled “Bikash Ra Dhara, Odisha Sara.”

The Prime Minister is expected to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 47,600 crore across power, railways, roads, health, and education, coinciding with the BJP government’s two-year milestone in Odisha.
