Youth Arrested for Obscene AI‑Morphed Posts Against Odisha CM
Bhubaneswar: Odisha cyber police have arrested Biswajit Sahu, a youth from Kataka, for posting obscene, AI‑generated and morphed images of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Instagram.
According to police, Sahu downloaded photographs of the Chief Minister, digitally altered them with vulgar gestures, and added defamatory captions to spread misinformation.
The posts, which included obscene language and offensive comments, were intended to damage the CM’s reputation.
A case was registered on July 4 at the Bhubaneswar cyber station (Case No. 101). Within 24 hours, police traced and arrested the accused.
Investigators seized his iPhone, along with screenshots, reels, and other incriminating digital evidence.
Sahu has been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (2023) — including 294(2), 296, 336(2), 336(4), 353(2), 356(2) — as well as IT Act sections 66C, 67, and 67A.
Authorities emphasised that the swift action demonstrates Odisha cyber police’s vigilance against online defamation and misuse of AI‑generated content.
Citizens have been urged to report offensive or defamatory posts immediately.
