Villagers Tie Up Power Staff in Deogarh After 4‑Day Blackout

Deogarh: Tension gripped Dudhianali village in Deogarh district after residents tied three electricity department workers to a pole in protest against a four‑day power outage.

The disruption followed a severe Kalbaishakhi storm that damaged poles and supply lines across Dholpada, Dudhianali, and Talakundi panchayats.

Despite repeated appeals, repair work was delayed, leaving villagers frustrated as crops and vegetables withered in the summer heat.

When workers finally arrived, locals demanded that senior officials visit the site immediately.

Police from the Kansar outpost intervened, ensuring the workers were released unharmed.

Officials later acknowledged the incident and assured the faster restoration of electricity in the affected areas.
