Veer Surendra Sai Museum Inaugurated in Sambalpur to Celebrate Odisha’s Heritage
Sambalpur, April 15: Union Education Minister and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the Veer Surendra Sai Museum at Dalipara, Sambalpur, paying tribute to the legendary freedom fighter’s courage and sacrifice.
The museum, developed through collaboration between the Culture & Tourism Department, district administration, and INTACH, showcases rare photographs, artworks, and cultural exhibits highlighting Sambalpur’s rich traditions and history.
Pradhan emphasized Sambalpur’s 10,000‑year heritage, including cave paintings, rock art, and the cultural significance of Maa Samaleswari shrine and the Mahanadi basin.
He also announced plans for a new Art, Music, and Craft College and completion of an auditorium for local artists, ensuring platforms for traditional art forms like Panchabadiya, Dalkhai, and Rangabati.
The Minister urged students, youth, and residents to visit the museum, aligning the initiative with the National Education Policy’s vision of promoting regional history and culture.
