Two Students Dead, Five Injured in Chandaka SUV–Truck Collision

Bhubaneswar, May 15: A tragic road accident near Chandaka on Bhubaneswar’s outskirts claimed the lives of two engineering students and left five others critically injured late Thursday night.

The SUV carrying seven passengers collided head‑on with a truck, leaving the vehicle’s front portion mangled and several occupants trapped inside.

Locals and commuters immediately alerted police and emergency services.

Fire personnel rushed to the scene and used gas cutters to rescue the trapped victims. The injured were shifted to Capital Hospital, where some remain in critical condition.

The rescue operation lasted for hours due to the severe damage to the SUV.

Police and emergency teams remained on site until the wreckage was cleared and traffic was restored.

The incident triggered panic among locals, with a large crowd gathering at the accident spot.
