Slab Collapse at Jatni Ganesh Immersion Kills One, Injures 14

Jatni, Odisha: A tragic incident occurred during the Ganesh idol immersion procession in Jatni when a concrete slab of a two‑storey building collapsed near Punjab National Bank.

The collapse killed one person and left more than 14 injured.

Eyewitnesses reported that the crowd had gathered to watch the immersion procession when the slab suddenly gave way.

The injured were rushed to Capital Hospital and AIIMS Bhubaneswar for treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest that vibrations from loud DJ music with heavy bass may have contributed to the collapse, though the exact cause is under investigation.

Allegations have surfaced that DJ systems were used despite restrictions and without proper permission.
