Arrest Warrant Issued Against Boudh MLA Saroj Pradhan

Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court in Boudh has issued an arrest warrant against sitting MLA Saroj Kumar Pradhan over allegations of submitting a false affidavit during the 2024 Odisha Assembly elections.

The complaint was filed by former MLA Pradip Kumar Amat, who accused Pradhan of misrepresenting facts in his election documents.

Although the Orissa High Court had earlier granted Pradhan a 12‑week reprieve, he failed to appear before the SDJM court after the relief expired, repeatedly seeking extensions instead.

With his continued absence, the court finally issued the warrant, sparking debate over his political future and raising questions about accountability in electoral processes.
