Rath Wood Reaches Puri, Chariot Construction Gains Momentum
Puri, April 26: Preparations for the annual Rath Yatra have taken a significant step forward as the sacred wood required for chariot construction has reached Bada Danda in Puri from the Ghumusar range of Ganjam.
The consignment includes 12‑foot Dhaúra logs (4 pieces), 20‑foot Asana logs (8 pieces), and 20‑foot Dhaúra logs (16 pieces).
With the arrival of this timber, work at the Rath Khala in Puri is progressing rapidly.
Meanwhile, the Chandan Yatra of Lord Jagannath is underway.
Deities including Madanmohan, Bhudevi, Sridevi, and Panchupandava are participating in the divine boat festival at Narendra Pushkarini, drawing large crowds of devotees.
The arrival of the wood and the ongoing rituals highlight the spiritual fervour in Puri, as devotees eagerly await the grand Rath Yatra.
