Odisha CM’s Grievance Hearing Postponed Amid Severe Heatwave

Bhubaneswar, April 26: The public grievance hearing of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, scheduled for April 27 at the old Government Primary School near Capital Nursery in Unit‑2, Ashok Nagar, has been postponed due to the ongoing heatwave conditions across the state.

Officials from the General Administration and Public Grievance Department stated that the decision was taken prioritising citizen safety and well‑being, as extreme temperatures pose serious health risks.

The hearing was intended to provide residents with a platform to directly present complaints related to administration, welfare, and development issues.

While citizens expressed disappointment over the postponement, authorities assured that the program will be rescheduled once weather conditions improve.

This development highlights how climate extremes are disrupting governance and public outreach in Odisha, forcing adjustments in administrative schedules.
