President Murmu’s Special Train Journey to Berhampur

President Droupadi Murmu embarked on a three‑day tour of Odisha, beginning with a special train journey from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur.

The presidential train, which arrived from Delhi, covered the 2‑hour‑10‑minute route under tight security, with escort trains running ahead and behind.

Upon arrival, the President proceeded by road to Taptapani, nearly 80 km away, to offer prayers at the Maa Kandhuni Devi temple.

Later in the evening, she returned to Berhampur and stayed overnight at the Army Air Defence College in Gopalpur.

The visit drew large crowds, with people braving rain to welcome her along the route.

Security arrangements involved multi‑layered coordination between state police, railway security, and central agencies.

On the following day, she is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar by the same special train.
