PM Modi Honoured with Indonesia’s Highest Civilian Award; Odisha CM Majhi Extends Congratulations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred Indonesia’s highest civilian honour, the Bintang Adipurna (Star of the Republic of Indonesia, Adipurna class), during his state visit to Jakarta.
President Prabowo Subianto personally welcomed Modi with full ceremonial honours, including a fighter jet escort.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the Prime Minister, calling the award “a resounding recognition of visionary statesmanship” and a proud moment for India.
Modi is only the second Indian Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to receive this distinction.
The honour underscores the strengthening of India–Indonesia relations across defence, trade, energy, maritime security, and cultural heritage.
Modi is also scheduled to visit the historic Prambanan Temple complex, further highlighting cultural ties.
Majhi emphasised that the recognition reflects India’s rising global stature and diplomatic influence, aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
