Bhubaneswar, June 17: The Odisha School and Mass Education (SME) Department has ordered a probe into allegations of unauthorised transfer of 120 teachers under the District Education Officer (DEO), Angul.
In a directive issued by Additional Secretary Girish Chandra Singh, IAS, the Director of Secondary Education has been asked to conduct a thorough enquiry and submit a detailed report within seven days. The investigation follows petitions filed by Harihar Mishra and others, who alleged irregularities in teacher postings.
Singh emphasised that the matter should be treated as “most urgent” and handled with transparency to uphold accountability in the transfer process. A copy of the directive has also been sent to the DEO, Angul, to ensure cooperation during the enquiry.
The probe is expected to bring clarity and reinforce discipline in teacher management across the state’s education system.
