Odisha Govt Calls Vigilance to Monitor University Recruitments

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department has sought the assistance of the Vigilance Department to ensure transparency in faculty recruitment across 16 state public universities.

In a directive issued by Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary Aravind Agrawal, IAS, the department emphasised strict monitoring of the recruitment process for Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors. The vigilance wings in relevant districts have been instructed to oversee recruitment activities closely and address any complaints or allegations promptly.

Agrawal underscored the department’s commitment to fairness and integrity, directing that all complaints be reported back to the Higher Education Department for follow‑up. Universities have been asked to fully cooperate with vigilance officials to maintain credibility and public confidence in the recruitment process.

This move aims to strengthen transparency and accountability in higher education appointments, ensuring merit‑based selections across Odisha’s public universities.
