Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s newly appointed Governor, Braj Mohan Ram, arrived in Bhubaneswar on Saturday to a warm reception from top state leaders and officials ahead of his swearing-in ceremony.

The Governor-designate was accorded a ceremonial welcome, including a guard of honour, upon his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport.

He was received by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, members of the state cabinet, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and Director General of Police Vinaytosh Mishra.

He succeeds Kambhampati Hari Babu as the constitutional head of the state.

Soon after reaching Odisha, the Governor-designate visited Puri and offered prayers at the revered Jagannath Temple, seeking divine blessings before formally assuming office.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

Justice Harish Tandon, Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, will administer the oath of office in the presence of dignitaries, public representatives, senior bureaucrats and other invited guests.

The appointment marks a new chapter in Odisha’s constitutional administration, with expectations that the new Governor will play a key role in strengthening coordination between the Centre and the state while upholding constitutional values.
