ABVP Sweeps Odisha Student Union Polls After Eight-Year Gap, Amit Shah Calls It a Sign of Changing Youth Politics
Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has congratulated workers of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) following the organization’s strong performance in Odisha’s student union elections, describing the outcome as a significant indicator of the country’s evolving youth political landscape.
According to the report, ABVP secured major student leadership positions across 346 colleges and 13 state universities in Odisha.
The elections were conducted after an eight-year hiatus, making the results particularly significant for student politics in the state.
Reacting to the results, Amit Shah said the victories achieved by ABVP in Odisha, along with its recent successes in Punjab University and Delhi University, reflect the political preferences of the younger generation.
Shah stated that students across the country are increasingly aligning with a “Nation First” ideology and supporting values centred on leadership, discipline, and national development.
He also claimed that the election outcome represents a strong response against forces that allegedly spread misinformation and confusion.
The student union election results are being viewed as an important development in Odisha’s campus politics, especially after the long suspension of student elections.
The ABVP’s performance is expected to influence future discussions on youth engagement, student leadership, and political participation in educational institutions across the state.
