Odisha Transfers Food Safety Officers Amid Administrative Reshuffle
In a significant administrative move, the Odisha government has transferred two Food Safety Officers with immediate effect.
Amita Das, currently posted in Kataka district, has been reassigned to Sub‑Divisional Hospital (SDH), Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district.
Meanwhile, Soumyakanta Naik, who was serving at SDH Rairangpur, has been transferred to the District Public Health Office (DPHO), Cuttack.
Both officers have been directed to join their new postings by 28 September 2026.
The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening vigilance against unsafe food practices and ensuring stricter enforcement of the Food Safety and Standards Act, Rules, and Regulations across Odisha.
