Odisha to Launch Global FinTech Hub in Bhubaneswar on August 21
Bhubaneswar, July 31(OT webdesk) — In a landmark move to position Odisha as a global FinTech powerhouse, the state government, in collaboration with the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN), will launch the Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub (I-GFTCH) on August 21, 2025.
The I-GFTCH marks Odisha’s first comprehensive foray into financial technology, blending global learning programs, startup incubation, and offshore capability development.
A five-month hybrid certification program in FinTech and InsurTech, developed in partnership with NUS-AIDF and GFTN, will begin in September, targeting over 7,000 students across the state.
Bhubaneswar is also set to host the prestigious Black Swan Summit (BSS) India in early 2026, bringing together global thought leaders in AI, tokenisation, and quantum computing.
A dedicated Centre of Excellence will support entrepreneurship through mentoring, incubation, and venture funding.
Electronics & IT Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling hailed the initiative as “an investment in youth that aligns with India’s innovation economy,” while Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj emphasized its role in boosting Odisha’s global digital credentials.
The concept was first envisioned during Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam’s visit earlier this year, reflecting Odisha’s bold ambition for inclusive and globally connected economic growth.
