Odisha SIR 2026 Enters Final Stage: Citizens Urged to Verify Voter Details

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Odisha has reached its final stage, with claims, objections, and hearings actively underway.

Citizens have until August 19, 2026, to file corrections or new applications, while the final voter list will be published on September 21, 2026.

According to official data, notices were issued to 58.36 lakh voters, of which 57.77 lakh have been successfully served.

Hearings have already been completed for over 30.11 lakh electors, and 12,572 names have been excluded due to missing or invalid information.

Applications received include:

  • Form‑6 (new registrations): 1,81,770
  • Form‑7 (deletions/shifting): 37,265
  • Form‑8 (corrections/grouping): 1,63,424

Constituencies such as Patkura (Kendrapara) and Athmallik (Angul) have achieved 100% notice delivery and hearings, setting benchmarks for efficiency in the state.

Chief Electoral Officer R.S. Gopalan has appealed to all eligible citizens to utilise the remaining window to ensure the voter list is accurate, inclusive, and up‑to‑date.
