Odisha Showcases Clean Energy Drive at CII Summit 2026

Odisha has positioned itself as a frontrunner in India’s clean energy transition, with Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo presenting the state’s ambitious roadmap at the 7th CII International Energy Conference & Exhibition in New Delhi.

Highlighting Odisha’s vision to become a national hub for renewable energy and green manufacturing, Singh Deo announced a target of 11 GW renewable capacity by 2030, supported by recent investment proposals worth Rs 67,000 crore across solar, wind, hydro, pumped storage, and hybrid systems.

The state is modernising its power grid with digital substations, smart grid technology, and AI-enabled asset management, while leveraging its 575 km coastline, deep-water ports, and mineral resources to supply round-the-clock renewable power.

Odisha is also developing green hydrogen hubs to decarbonise heavy industries such as steel, aluminium, mining, and maritime transport.

On the social front, initiatives like PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, decentralised solar projects, and green mobility aim to reduce household energy costs, create jobs, and empower MSMEs.

Singh Deo invited global technology providers, manufacturers, and financial institutions to collaborate, assuring a stable policy framework and streamlined clearances.

The state’s clean energy momentum aligns with the national vision of Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047, reinforcing its role in India’s energy transition.
