Odisha Shuts Schools in Four Districts Amid Flood Crisis

The Odisha government has ordered the closure of all government and private schools in Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, and Jajpur districts on Friday following flood alerts.

Rising water levels have disrupted daily life and posed risks to commuting students, prompting authorities to take precautionary measures.

In Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur, schools will remain closed on Saturday as well due to worsening flood conditions.

District administrations have directed institutions to comply strictly with the orders, emphasising that the closures are temporary but necessary to safeguard children and staff.

Parents and residents have been urged to remain vigilant and follow official advisories as floodwaters continue to affect several areas.

The government has assured that further decisions will be taken based on evolving ground realities.
