Odisha SEC to Launch Door‑to‑Door Voter Verification Drive from October 26
The Odisha State Election Commission (SEC) has announced a door‑to‑door voter verification campaign beginning October 26 and continuing until November 7.
The initiative aims to update and refine electoral rolls ahead of the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body (ULB) elections.
Teams comprising Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Anganwadi workers, and ASHA workers will conduct the survey, verifying eligible voters, correcting discrepancies, and removing duplicate entries.
Draft rolls will be published and revised, with final electoral rolls for all wards scheduled for release by February 10, 2027.
To strengthen poll preparedness, the SEC will repair old ballot boxes, procure new ones, and introduce a digital de‑duplication tool to detect multiple voter registrations.
Officials emphasised that the exercise is crucial to ensuring accuracy and integrity in the electoral process.
