Sonu Nigam’s First Rath Yatra Visit Lights Up Puri
The sacred town of Puri witnessed a historic Rath Yatra this year as lakhs of devotees thronged the Grand Road to pull the majestic chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
Adding to the spiritual fervour, Bollywood playback legend Sonu Nigam visited Puri for the first time to seek blessings and experience the grandeur of the festival.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi marked the occasion by launching new editions of state publications — Utkal Prasanga, Odisha Review, and Pragati Prabah.
He also inaugurated a Tanka Torani distribution centre near Singhadwar, ensuring devotees could access the traditional cooling drink during the humid monsoon season.
The convergence of celebrity devotion and state initiatives highlighted Odisha’s cultural pride, hospitality, and commitment to preserving tradition while serving the needs of millions of pilgrims.
