Odisha Police Deploys 15 IPS Officers to Strengthen Law & Order in 17 Districts

Odisha Police Headquarters has deployed 15 senior IPS officers to oversee law and order in 17 districts across the state.

The move aims to strengthen administrative oversight, improve accountability, and ensure timely reporting of ground realities.

According to the directive, senior officers have been assigned specific districts:

  • Crime Branch DG Vinaytosh Mishra will monitor Balasore and Bhadrak.
  • Special Ops ADG Sanjeeb Panda will oversee Koraput and Rayagada.
  • ADG Soumendra Priyadarshi will be in charge of Jagatsinghpur, while Railway ADG Arun Bothra will supervise Angul.
  • Other assignments include ADG Sanjay Kumar (Sambalpur), ADG Rajesh Kumar (Nayagarh), ADG Prateek Mohanty (Jajpur), ADG Yatindra Koyal (Kalahandi), ADG S. Saini (Bolangir), IG S. Praveen Kumar (Kandhamal), IG Deepak Kumar (Malkangiri), IG Anup Sahu (Puri), IG Avinash Kumar (Mayurbhanj), Dr Sarthak Sarangi (Kendrapara), and IG Satish Kumar Ishwardas (Dhenkanal).

The officers will begin inspections in July and are required to submit reports within 15 days of completion.

This initiative is expected to tighten law and order monitoring and enhance district‑level accountability.
