Odisha Opens 422 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs for Holistic Care

Odisha has strengthened its healthcare infrastructure with the operationalisation of 422 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Ayush Health & Wellness Centres) under the National Ayush Mission (NAM).

These centres, upgraded from existing AYUSH dispensaries, are now fully functional across the state, delivering holistic healthcare through Ayurveda and other AYUSH systems.

According to official data, Ganjam district leads with 42 centres, followed by Balasore (34), Bhadrak (25), Mayurbhanj (23), and Kendujhar (22).

Districts like Balangir, Nayagada, and Puri each host 21 centres, while Khordha (18), Kataka (17), and Dhenkanal (16) also feature prominently.

Smaller districts such as Nabarangpur and Subarnapur have four centres each.

Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav highlighted that public health remains a State subject, with the Centre providing financial support under NAM.

The decision to establish new centres lies with the Odisha Government, ensuring localised planning and execution.
