Odisha Minister Assures Egg Prices Will Ease Soon as Production Rises
Odisha’s Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister, Gokulananda Mallick, has assured that egg prices will ease soon as production ramps up across the state.
Currently, Odisha produces around 1.25 crore eggs daily, but rising demand within the state and exports outside have driven prices upward.
To stabilise supply and meet growing demand, the government has set a target of increasing production to 2 crore eggs per day.
Poultry farmers are being offered incentives to expand capacity, and officials expect that improved availability will help normalise prices in the coming weeks.
This move is part of the state’s broader effort to ensure food security and affordability for households while supporting poultry farmers with sustainable growth opportunities.
