Odisha Law Minister Hails ADLs as Key to Speedy Case Resolution
Bhubaneswar, July 4: Odisha Law, Public Works, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has underscored the pivotal role of Assistant Directors of Law (ADLs) in expediting case resolution across government departments.
At a review meeting in Lok Seva Bhavan, the Minister praised ADLs as the crucial link between the Law Department and administrative wings, ensuring timely legal advice and reducing case backlogs.
Harichandan highlighted the adoption of mediation laws for faster outcomes and announced plans for cadre restructuring, new recruitments, and a Litigation Management Policy.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will soon be issued to streamline case management. He urged officers to upgrade their skills to meet contemporary demands.
The Minister also released the 2025–26 Achievement Report booklet during the meeting.
Senior officials, including Principal Secretary Dr Pabitra Mohan Samal, Special Secretary Pranab Kumar Patra, and Additional Secretary Shiba Prasad Mohapatra, were present.
