Odisha CM Urges Citizens to Support Census 2027 Drive

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has appealed to citizens to extend full cooperation in the first phase of Census 2027, which begins with the House Listing and Housing Census 2026.

The exercise will be jointly conducted by the Census Directorate under the Ministry of Home Affairs and the state’s Revenue & Disaster Management Department.

Self‑enumeration will be open from April 1 to 15, 2026, through the official portal (https://se.census.gov.in), followed by a field survey from April 16 to May 15 across all 30 districts.

Trained enumerators and supervisors will visit households to collect essential data.

Majhi himself completed his self‑enumeration and urged citizens to participate actively, stressing that accurate data is vital for future planning and development.

The Odisha Government has made extensive preparations to ensure the smooth execution of the census, and the CM emphasised that public cooperation will be key to its success.
