Nabarangpur RI Suspended for Skipping Flood Duty
Nabarangpur district administration has suspended Biranchi Narayan Das, the Revenue Inspector (RI) of Kodinga, for unauthorised absence during a critical flood situation.
Despite an official order cancelling all leaves across the district, Das failed to report for duty, prompting Collector Dr Maheswar Swain to issue the suspension order on September 28, 2026.
Under the disciplinary action, Das will remain suspended pending inquiry, with his headquarters shifted to the Revenue Section of the Nabarangpur Collectorate.
He will now work under the Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) and is barred from leaving headquarters without prior permission.
The suspension underscores Odisha’s strict enforcement of administrative discipline during disaster management, ensuring accountability in times of crisis.
